What is YISA?

YISA stands for Yokohama International Studies Association, commonly pronounced as "Waisa."

In 2016, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Faculty of International Studies, Meiji Gakuin University established YISA. YISA aims to promote interactions and collaboration among students, alumni, and faculty members. We encourage you to use this platform to expand your network and discover new possibilities.

How can I become a member?

All current students, graduates, former students, current and retired faculty members of the Faculty of International Studies and Graduate School at Meiji Gakuin University are members of YISA.

What does registration entail?

Registration involves providing your contact information to YISA.

As your circumstances change, such as your email address or physical address, please make sure to update YISA with your new contact information.

What happens when I register?

You will receive invitations to various events such as career consultation sessions held several times a year for current students, the annual "International Studies Reunion" held in December, workshops, and lifelong learning opportunities. Please register through the following URL:

What is the Reunion?

The Reunion is the annual alumni gathering of the Faculty of International Studies, held every December. Until 2019, it was hosted in Building 8 on the Yokohama campus, featuring talks by alumni excelling in various fields, delicious meals, and cross-generational conversations. In 2020, it was held entirely online, featuring videos comparing past and present Totsuka, discussions about the new normal in campus life, and conversations between faculty and current students. We have now returned to holding the annual reunion in person.

Is there a participation fee?

Most events are free to attend. However, for some events, there may be a small participation fee for alumni (students can attend for free). Please check the event details for more information.

Can I participate in events on a one-off basis?

Yes, you can. Please check the event announcements and join any event that fits your schedule.

Is it true that YISA provides subsidies?

Currently, YISA accepts subsidy applications for seminar camps for current students at any time. Additionally, subsidies are available for study tours and student projects (subject to review). For more details, please see the following URL:
